Admission Procedure

Age Eligibility

The age of the prospective student, as on 30th September of the Academic Session for which the admission is sought, should be as follows:

Registration

  1. A duly filled Registration Form available from the school / online is to be submitted with the non-refundable, non-transferable Registration Fee within 2 days from the date of issue of the form or the last date given.
  2. Information regarding the choice of the Stream (Science/Commerce/Humanities) as well as that of the Optional Subject has to be filled in the Registration Form itself. In order to cater to the varied interests of the students, the school provides the following subjects as Optional:

  1. A copy of the Birth Certificate must be attached with the Registration Form.
  2. Students who have attended other schools need to submit a photocopy of the report card of the last two academic years of the previous school. In this case, the student needs to submit attested photocopies of his/her Class IX and Class X Mark Sheets of the Board Examination.
  3. The registration fee is neither adjustable nor refundable and is valid only for the specified academic year.
  4. Registration of a child does not guarantee admission to school.

The Process

Based upon the marks obtained in Class IX & Class X Board Examination, a list of selected candidates for admission to Class XI can be sought from the Admission Office.

  1. The Admission Form must be duly filled and returned to the respective branch within 2 working days from the grant of admission.
  2. Admission will become valid only after the complete payment of Admission Fee before the due date as well as on the submission and completion of all the necessary forms, documents and certificates.
  3. Original Birth Certificate and Transfer certificate will be required at the time of grant of admission along with 3 passport size photographs and other mandatory documents as per the respective class.
  4. The child will also be assessed on his/her academic readiness and motivation; social and emotional development; family’s co-operation in working with the school and meeting the needs of the child.
  5. The amount deposited as Admission Fee for a particular academic year will neither be refunded nor transferred to any other year. Moreover, fresh registration will be required if a child is to be given admission for a subsequent year.
  6. The school, on accepting the registration of a child, is in no way bound to grant admission to that child as it is purely based on availability of seats. The decision of the Principal regarding admission will be final and binding.

Documents Required

Information regarding the grant of admission can be sought from the respective school office. and children who have been granted admission must submit the following documents before joining the school in order to confirm their seat.

  1. Submission of the Birth Certificate if not yet given
  2. Attested photocopy of the Mark Sheet from the Board/School last attended i.e. evidence of passing the last class or promotion to the present class.
  3. Attested photocopy of Passing and Migration Certificates from the Board/School last attended.
  4. Original Conduct and Character Certificate from the school last attended.
  5. Original Transfer Certificate from the previous school, which should be a recognized school, affiliated to the All India Board or a State Board of Education. Transfer Certificates have to be signed by the District Education Officer (DEO) if the child is transferred from other states and by the Embassy of India if the child is seeking admission from foreign countries.
  6. Attested photocopy of the Certificate of School-based Evaluation for students coming from CBSE affiliated schools and are being admitted mid-session in Class XI.
  7. 3 passport size photographs.
  8. Proof of residence of the child (Copy of Ration card /Voter ID /Passport / Aadhaar Card).
  9. A medical certificate from a qualified registered doctor showing the record of vaccination/ immunization as well as mention of any particular ailment or health condition about which the school ought to know.
  10. In case the child is adopted, parents will have to submit an attested copy of the adoption certificate issued by the competent authority.
  11. In case of divorce/separation, the parent who is admitting the child will have to submit an attested copy of the custody certificate of the child issued by the competent law officer.

Payment of Fee

A student is required to make full payment of the fees and other dues as per the schedule and fee structure laid down by the school.

Payment can be made online / by depositing directly into the school bank account / by a demand draft drawn in the name of ‘Delhi Public School (Branch Name)’ payable at Kanpur.

Direct Admission to Class XII is an exception and not a norm and is only permissible to facilitate candidates with parents in transferable jobs or shifting of families from another city. Therefore, in such cases it becomes mandatory to send the attested copies of the documents of the concerned candidate to the CBSE Regional Office and seek prior approval.

  1. The school will send the letter of request taken from the parent along with the other required documents to seek approval from the CBSE Regional Office.
  2. On getting the approval, the concerned parents would be duly intimated to get their ward’s application processed.
  3. A duly filled Registration Form available from the school / online is to be submitted with the non-refundable, non-transferable Registration Fee within 2 days from the date of issue of the form or the last date given.
  4. A copy of the Birth Certificate must be attached with the Registration Form.
  5. Students who have attended other schools need to submit a photocopy of the report card of the last two academic years of the previous school.

  2. Evidence of passing the last class (11th) or promotion to the present class (12th).
  3. Original Class XI Registration Card.
  4. In case of shifting of business from one city to another, the concerned parents are required to submit documents related to the closure of business in that city along with the documents related to the setting up of new business in the said city.
  5. An authentic copy of the Transfer Order of the parents and/or a Government issued residence shifting proof of the parents from one place to another place (Kindly Note: Address/Residence proof is not acceptable).

Information regarding the grant of approval from the CBSE Regional Office can be sought from the respective school office and children who have been granted admission must submit the following remaining documentsbefore joining the school in order to confirm their seat.
